This small ancient woodland was once part of Epping Forest. The canopy is dominated by ancient oaks and it also has many wild service trees. Parts of the wood have carpets of bluebells in spring, along with wood anemones and lesser celandine. It has a good selection of woodland birds, including treecreepers.
